JOB OPENING
Strategic Operations Specialist
(NYC, Part-Time/Hybrid)
This new role of a Strategic Operations Specialist is to serve as the hyper-organized, proactive operational engine for Marauder’s leadership, initiatives, and client deliverables. This is a perfect role for an elite organizer who thrives in creating processes and order. This person will be tasked with streamlining Marauder’s internal systems and ensuring smooth and effective operations. This position requires managing a multifaceted universe—overseeing the short- and long-term tasks for the Managing Partner, directing Marauder’s internship program, and keeping external projects and initiatives the Managing Partner is involved in moving forward smoothly. More important than experience is having the right drive, the ability to offer and implement creative solutions, to work locally as part of a global team, and to communicate effectively in writing and in person. The Strategic Operations Specialist will report directly to the Managing Partner.
Responsibilities:
Project Management & Deliverable Tracking
Act as the primary tracker for all client deliverables and program milestones across both Marauder programs and the Managing Partner's external initiatives.
Maintain, update, and optimize project management tools so the entire team has visibility into deadlines.
Gather, manage, and interpret key data and analytics to monitor success metrics
Act as an operational filter for upcoming work: deeply understanding the difference between priority needs (business-critical), urgent needs (time-sensitive fires), and passion needs (exciting ideas), helping the Managing Partner categorize and address them accordingly during weekly alignment syncs.
Internship Program Leadership
Directly oversee Marauder’s interns, mapping out weekly tasks, deliverables, and educational milestones.
Serve as the main point of contact for interns, reviewing their work, providing feedback, and ensuring they are hitting their project goals.
Build reproducible processes and onboarding materials to make the intern rotation seamless cycle-over-cycle.
High-Level Stakeholder Communication & Logistics
Serve as a professional, organized, and adaptive point of contact for key clients, program participants, and industry partners.
Confidently communicate and interface with professionals at all levels of their careers—from students entering the space to high-level executives.
Lead logistical communications, coordination, and scheduling to ensure programs and projects run seamlessly.
Regular reporting on the performance of each project as well as the team.
Systems & Team Leadership
Lead through strong organization and processes: establish clear, repeatable workflows that allow team members to collaborate seamlessly.
Work effectively both as an independent operator who can run with a project unguided, and as a collaborative group leader.
Occasional travel to conferences and key events to work on clients’ or Marauder's behalf, and/or expand industry relationships.
Expected Project Load
As part of a small, dynamic team, this role focuses heavily on creating efficiency, organizing workflows, and driving execution across multiple moving parts. This role is structured around batch processing, asynchronous communication, and clear project ownership to ensure maximum impact within a part-time schedule through the following activities:
High-Level Alignment: Weekly alignment syncs to map out project tracks, prioritize timelines, and review upcoming milestones with the Managing Partner.
System Automation & Asynchronous Work: Build and run the tracking systems that allow others to execute work independently without needing constant, real-time meetings.
Focused Execution: Manage project timelines, organize workflows, and oversee program logistics
Qualifications
A demonstratively strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
Passionate about creative arts and the industry that is fueled by it
Highly organized, self-motivated, and the ability to excel in an entrepreneurial environment
Previous experience as an executive assistant and/or in an environment with direct report to senior management
Comfortable “managing up,” spotting potential conflicts or delayed deliverables, and bringing solutions to the table
Ability to shift from operational duties to client management when called for
Comfortable working independently yet knows how to collaborate to achieve success
Proficient with modern office tools (Google Workspace, Slack, MS Office), CRMs, and project management platforms
Compensation
$26 – $36 per hour, depending on experience, strictly capped at 20 - 25 hours per week, agreed upon in advance.
Note: This role has the potential to transition to a full-time position in the future based on business growth, though a transition is not guaranteed.
